As an avid traveler, I often find myself mindlessly scrolling through the web, exploring new sites and destinations on the daily. Finding a location to travel to is easy, I know we all have those fantasies of strolling down the banks of the Seine or lounging by the beach in the Bahamas. But it’s making those dreams a reality that’s hard. Finding accommodation that can fit everyone in the group, that has a pool or a gym and that fits in your budget is one thing, but then you have to factor in everything else. Travel time, flights, budgeting, meals, packing lists, daily itineraries, events that coincide with your travel dates, weather….. the list goes on. For me, there is no such thing as a perfect holiday. There will always be a downfall, an imperfection – “We loved our holiday to Greece, but…”. It’s in accepting this, in planning and achieving holidays in spite of their flaws that we have the most fun. Those spontaneous nights spent at a cheap restaurant and the activities booked last minute. Those are the things we remember. When we look back on our trips, perhaps the most memorable parts are the things that went wrong. Holidays are made for the adventurous, for the thrill seekers, for the explorers. A true vacation is one you can never forget.
